Each month, staff members select a colleague for the "Who's got Hootie?" award. Hootie is a small, stuffed owl that "lives" with the Hootie winner until the next selection is made. Hootie is given to staff members who go the extra mile to make Lake a great learning environment for all.
In January, Mr. Edwards presented Mrs. Mason with the award for being a great person to collaborate with and bounce ideas off of. Mr. Edwards said that he knows he can run to Mrs. Mason with whatever he may need and he can't wait to work with her for many years to come!
Mrs. Mason started teaching at Lake School in 2010!
"My name is Mrs. Alison Mason, and I teach sixth grade at Lake. On a personal note, I grew up in the Bay Area in the small agricultural town of Brentwood. I am the oldest of three children, and my family owns a Ford dealership in Brentwood. After graduating high school I moved up to Chico for college. In college I met my husband, Zack, almost seventeen years ago. We are thoroughly enjoying being parents to Presley and Piper while going through all the fun adventures a seven-year-old and five-year-old bring! In my spare time I enjoy crafting, antiquing, and interior decorating. As for my educational background, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree and Multiple Subject teaching credential from California State University, Chico. I am in my twelfth year as a full-time elementary teacher, and this is my TENTH year at Lake, can you believe it? Time flies! I’ve taught junior high all of my twelve years of teaching, and I look forward to working with my middle schoolers daily. I love my Lake family, and I’m truly grateful to be a Lake Panther." -Alison Mason
Thank you Mrs. Mason for all of your hard work! We appreciate you!
Who will get Hootie next month?
