Hello Lake Families!
My name is Cami Johnson, and I am so excited to be joining the Lake Elementary family for the 2026-2027 school year as the new kindergarten teacher.
I am from a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and moved to Chico for my undergraduate degree and teaching credential. Once I moved to the area, I knew it had quickly become my new home! Coming from a small town, I cherish and appreciate the small town/rural atmosphere which makes me even more excited to serve the Lake community.
This will be my first year teaching. I spent the 2025-2026 school year student teaching in a 5th grade classroom, and substitute taught in classrooms K-6 the previous year. Before moving to Chico I taught preschool for 2 years. Working with children is my passion and calling, and I am greatly looking forward to getting to know your children and providing them with a warm, loving environment!
Outside of work, I love to spend time outdoors. If the weather is nice, you can find me hiking, fishing, or camping. With that being said, I can also appreciate a lazy day reading or watching movies. I also love to bake!
