This week at Lake!

As we begin CAASP Testing in grades 3 - 8 this week, it is important to remind your child to come to school with a positive mindset, grit, a good night's sleep, and a healthy breakfast. We believe in each of our students' abilities and can't wait for them to show off what they've learned!

Today was Taco Tuesday in the cafeteria! The kids, and adults, were excited to try something new this month. We had chicken tacos with cilantro lime rice. It seemed like the new addition to the menu was a hit! Ask your child what they ate at school today, and what they thought of it. This may start a whole conversation about the importance of eating lunch and what we put in our bodies to fuel ourselves for the rest of the day.

🌽 Calling Our Community! 🥕

We are looking for community members who have connections to the food, agriculture, or nutrition world and would be willing to help educate our students!

If you work in farming, ranching, food production, nutrition, or a related field—or know someone who does—we would love to partner with you. Opportunities could include classroom visits, demonstrations, or field trips. Sharing your experiences and helping students learn where their food comes from and how to make healthy choices is something that would greatly benefit our school.

If you’re interested or have a connection you’d be willing to share, please contact Mrs. Lloyd at (530) 865-1255 or email her at elloyd@lakeschool.org.

Thank you for helping us connect our students with the amazing agricultural community around us! 🌱
